Great Celebration Night:
A great night was had by all of the large crowd at the Tralee Parnells Adult Teams Launch Night Party 2019 in the Ashe Hotel Tralee on Saturday. It was a great mix of a crowd, ranging from men and women who are members of the adult teams, to a large turnout of underage players from the teenage teams, to parents of younger players, supporters, volunteers and friends. A lovely touch on the evening was when chair Dermot Reen, having said a few well chosen words welcoming all and reflecting on the progress made since 2012 in being able to hold such a launch night, handed the floor over to special guest Sonny Egan from our neighbours Crotta.

As Dermot mentioned, when the Tralee hurling initiative and academy were in their infancy a number of years ago, Sonny came to a gathering of those interested in further developing hurling in Tralee and gave sage words of advice and encouragement, a gesture very much appreciated by our nascent club. As an accomplished raconteur and storyteller, Sonny then gave a crowd pleasing recitation of the poem The Resurrection of Kate Finucane by Ballylongford man, Professor Brendan Kennelly. This had the crowd in stitches and we thank Sonny very much for making the time to come and help us mark our new club milestone.  We have some photos of the groups and of the action on the dance floor, on our social media at  https://traleeparnellshurling.blogspot.com/2019/05/tralee-parnells-adult-teams-launch.html
