traleeparnells 2Happy Birthday:

The official launch of Tralee Parnells Hurling and Camogie Club took place this time 3 years ago.  On our Facebook page at at https://www.facebook.com/TraleeParnellsHurlingClub we have some photos looking back to the relaunch in Austin Stack Park of the club that won county honours a century ago.

The team photo was the original group of 12 to 14 year old players the club started with, what’s great is the majority of those kids are still hurling and a good few have gone on to play for the county team.

Since 2012 we have grown into a mighty little club with around 240 boys and girls from ages 5 to 18.  Still a mountain of work to do in terms of player and coach recruitment and also pushing the coaching in the school but we cant wait to see where we’ll be in three more years.   Keep up the good work everyone and keep spreading the gospel.

Camán to Croker:

There is an interesting short video on YouTube that gives the flavour of the day our Tralee Parnells under 12 girls enjoyed at Headquarters on our Camán to Croker trip.  Follow the link on our Parnells Facebook page.

Freestyle Hurling:

Coming up this month the GAA Freestyle Hurling competition launches again. Freestyle Hurling is the art of expressing yourself with a hurley and sliotar while performing skills and tricks. The challenge is simple; pick up your hurley and sliotar, record your very own ‘Freestyle Hurling’ video and enter the competition. Stay tuned to GAA.ie for launch details.
