Round 1 of the Munster Club 7’s Summer Series, Sat June 29, 12N-2P, Na Piarsaigh, Caherdavin, LK.  This was a great event last summer and our Under-17 and Over-17 squads are looking forward hugely to taking part this year.

Trip to Tipp 2019:
A large bus of Parnells players, mentors and families made the trip to the Munster Senior Hurling game between Limerick and Tipperary.  Many thanks to Micheál Cassidy for organizing this great day out for the club.

Intermediate Men:
Our game vs Kenmare is being rescheduled as they couldn’t field a team on the Wednesday, details to follow.

Under 14 Boys:
Hard luck to our Under 14s who lost the Div 2 County League final. Rip roaring game that saw Kilmoyley finish up deserving winners. Final Score Kilmoyley 2-09 Parnells 0-13.

Parnells Summer Camp 15 July:
Our 4 day Hurling & Camogie camp for 6 to 14 year olds will take place in Caherslee GAA grounds from Monday the 15th to Thursday the 18th of July, 10 am to 1 pm.

Under 10 Boys:
Our under 10 boys were outstanding in the first North Kerry blitz of the year. We played four and won four, great heart in four tight games.
Parnells 2-01 Lixnaw 1-02
Parnells 3-00 Abbeydorney 2-02
Parnells 2-00 Crotta 1-00
Parnells 0-03 Causeway 0-02
Well done to Mikey Leahy and Abbeydorney for a well run event

Féile Boys:
Féile na nGael – 1/4 final of the shield.
Boys were 6 points down at the start of the second half to Buttevent of Cork. With the scores level going into injury time, up stepped Eoghan Costello to put over a 65 to win the game for Parnells.
Féile na nGael – Boys shield Semi Final.
The U14 boys made their way to Coachford Sunday morning to take on Carraig na bhfear from Cork in the semi final of the Shield competition.
A cracking game, where the boys pulled back another 6 point deficit with two goals in the final two minutes to draw the game. The game then ended level after extra time and went to 45 meter frees. Not to be for our lads but what a performance and what a weekend for a great bunch of lads.
Many thank to Pa Kerins for the fantastic photos over the weekend, all on our social media

Féile Girls:
Féile na nGael for the girls started slowly on the Friday beginning with a very strong Four Roads side from Roscommon who topped the group.  Our recent performances against Killarney have shown improvement but it was the south Kerry side who played the better Camogie on this meeting.  Our Friday results left it all to do Saturday morning.  But in a very spirited display showing skill and determination, Parnells were level 1-2 all with our visitors from Castleblayney Co Monaghan in the closing stages when Alice drove through from midfield, turned to lose her marker and fed an incisive pass to Aoife who skillfully evaded her own covering players on the edge of the square before finding the net to secure the win  for Tralee.  Based on our results it was then off to a quarter final in Cork at Baile Bhuirne.  In an even first half on the Saturday evening vs Bandon there was little to separate the teams but Parnells finished stronger, setting up a Semi Final Sunday morning in Mayfield, Cork city, another outing for our loyal and vocal followers.  Against Edendork Camogie of Tyrone our girls battled bravely but were up against the strongest side we met all weekend and in thunder rain during the second half it was the Ulster side who prevailed.  Overall a huge weekend of Camogie and new friendships for our players an host families, a Féile to remember for all.

Féile Hosting:
Féile na nGael Hurling and Camogie came to Tralee Saturday and Caherslee was awash with colour. Well done to everyone for making it a success on and off the pitch.
Féile na nGael Saturday evening – Time to party.
A chance to unwind for the players coaches and parents. They they marched from Caherslee GAA grounds to Kerins O Rahillys clubhouse where there was music, great laughs and presentations. It was great to mix with our guests from Castleblayney Co Monaghan and Eir Og Carrickmore from County Tyrone.
