Development Blitz Munster 7’s Club Camogie :
After a great day out in Limerick recently, our under 17 and over 17 panels of Camogie players looked forward to the next days out in the series.  Round 2 of Munster Club 7’s Summer Series was held Sat July 13, Mallow.
We also play to travel to Clare for challenge matches, a bus/ferry trip at the invitation of Kilkee Béalatha Camogie Club, bank holiday Friday, Aug 2. Bus leaves Caherslee 5 PM.
The Mallow Club Camogie Munster 7’s was another very worthwhile outing, for both out junior and under 17 squads.
The Juniors were drawn against Monaleen, Tournafulla and Moycarkey Borris from Tipp.
The under 17s had matches against Sliabh Luachra-Killarney, Rathluirc Charleville, Ballyagran and Holycross Camogie sides.

Intermediate Men:
After the disappointment for our Intermediates against the same opposition in the recent round of the County League, the pendulum seems to have swung the other way for the championship encounter this week.

Like in that league game, we again held the lead at half time.  But on this occasion there was no second half reversal.

One key difference apart from changes in the home lineup in Caherslee, was that Abbeydorney key assets such as Aidan Healy and Beano Donovan moved to the club senior county squad, making room for others to get a run out.

Under 12 Boys:
A hum dinger of a finish to Parnells U12s Div 1 County League Phase 2 in Caherslee Friday evening v Crotta. In a game that we were staying in throughout just, but had seemed to slip away from the boys with 4 mins left, finding ourselves 6 pts down. They dug deep in those 4 mins to come from the 6 pts down to winning the game by 3 pts. Final score 3-08 to 3-05. Great team effort.
The only disappointment on the evening was that unfortunately the Div 3 teams game v Crotta was cancelled 5 mins before start time and left some of our boys fiercely disappointed.

As one of our volunteer mentors who togs out with our adult players commented;
What a game of hurling it was.  I watched the game with senior player Paul Daly and he said every senior player should  have watch this game the commitment,  the work rate and team work of the young lads, the skills on show were unreal.  A real Credit to all involved well done to players and management on a fantastic win.

Camogie Under 16 and Minor County Leagues:
Clubs will be competing for the inaugural titles in these competitions in late August and September.
Under 16 and Minor Leagues: clubs are encouraged to let players know as soon as possible that they and their We hope to run a similar competition in Spring 2020 when 2019 memberships are still valid.

Kerry Under 20 Hurlers:
Well done to Parnells Tadhg Brick who started at full back and Ruari O Sullivan who was on the panel for the Kerry U20s in the Bord Gais Energy All-Ireland U20 B Hurling Championship ¼ Final. Kerry played Wicklow at 3pm in Semple Stadium, Thurles Saturday afternoon and came away with a good win,

First Aid Basics For Our Teenagers.
We were delighted to note the following offer to all our Camogie under 14s from Lynda, our Camogie Féile team mentor. Lynda is a Parnells parent, who volunteers with the Irish Red Cross.
Now, Lynda has very generously offered to include in this very useful session, any Camogie players over 14 who want to attend.

We already got several replies requesting to take part… I will do a first aid talk with them on Monday from 3 to 6 followed by training at 6.30. I would show the girls how to do CPR, bandaging, choking and talk about various illnesses  that they might come across. I would do the course in the dressing room in Caherslee. They can bring food with them to have  between the talk and training.
