Under 16 Camogie County League:

Congratulations Tralee Parnells Camogie under 16s on your win in Caherslee Friday night over Sliabh Luachra – Killarney in the under 16 Camogie County League.

The home side brought their strong performance last week away to Causeway, into this game and reaped the rewards.  Lots of good tussling, off the ball runs, combination play and tireless forward running play, resulted in lots of well taken scores, with points and goals accruing to a wide range of forwards and midfielders.

This was our first home match of the long-awaited and much-needed inaugural U16 County League.  Great to be able to field a team with just under 16 and under 15 players, the numbers are thankfully holding strong at under 16s.  Several of the older players from this squad now looking forward to the inaugural U18 Camogie County League when they travel to North Kerry this coming Monday night the 9th.

Under 13 Hurling:

Tralee Parnells 5-7 0-3 Causeway. Another commanding performance and another great win by our U13s in the NK Championship semi-final. On a very gusty evening, our boys played with the benefit of the strong cross-wind in the 1st half and kept the scoreboard ticking over, scoring 4-4 while holding their opponents scoreless.

In the 2nd half, the boys worked hard and defended well, restricting Causeway to scores from placed balls. The forwards continued to show well for the ball and got some well worked scores against a strong wind. Causeway battled to the end but Parnells ran out worthy winners.

Kerry U14 Camogie :
Tralee Parnells wished best of luck to Tralee Parnells’ Alice, Aoife, Emma, Gráinne, Jessica, Lana and their Kerry teammates and management, including our own, Ann O’Loughlin, in the All-Ireland U14 Blitz Saturday in Dublin.

Looking forward to seeing them all parading in Croke Park during the camogie finals on Sunday. Ciarraí Abú!  From Dublin Saturday, we got the update that Kerry topped the group, beating Derry, Antrim n Armagh, won the semi final against Meath 2-3 to 2-1 and were in final against Armagh, heart stopping stuff!!

Under 10 Hurling:
Saturday morning in Caherslee nine teams took part in the final Under 10 North Kerry blitz of the year and it was a belter. Our lads played very well in Div 1 losing narrowly to Kilmoyley and Ballyduff but we defeated Abbeydorney and Ballyheigue.

Narrow defeats to Kilmoyley and Ballyduff were sandwiched between a big win over Abbeydorney and thrilling last gasp victory over Ballyheigue. Over the three North Kerry Blitz’s boys played 10 games with 7 wins.
Div 1 Joint Winner – Ballyheigue and Kilmoyley
Div 2 Winner – Crotta.
Thank you to the visiting teams and coaches for helping run off the blitz in time. A big thank you to the Parnells coaches for having our lads ready and to the parents who helped set up the pitches and served up the sandwiches and goodies.
Next Saturday we’re heading to Clonlara in County Clare.

Camogie All Ireland Train Trip:
Excited scenes early Sunday morning as Tralee Parnells in huge numbers boarded the 2 carriages they has booked for travel to Croke Park to cheer on their heroes in the Green and Gold in the All-Ireland Premier Junior Camogie Championship Final (12 noon) with the Kay Mills Cup up for grabs.

In our message groups there were many parents commenting on what a great opportunity this trip is for the players and commending Carmel on another well organised outing.

North Kerry Under 21 Hurling:
Decent performance from our Under 21’s Tuesday night in the North Kerry Championship against St Brendan’s. For one reason or another preparations for our first ever outing at this age group were less than ideal but fair play to the lads who gave a good account of themselves, especially in the second half.
Final score Tralee Parnells 1-12 St Brendan’s 3-15.  Respectable enough against a strong traditional club, in Tralee Parnells first ever under 21 hurling season.
The draw for the U21 County Championship was made and we’ll be playing St Brendan’s again. Game is fixed for Friday the 13th of September in Caherslee at 6 pm.

Under 16 Hurling:
Lixnaw u16s who won the County Championship Plate Final Saturday evening in Kilmoyley against what their social media described as a strong Tralee Parnells side.  The Final Score was Lixnaw 2.07 Parnells 2.05.
