Under 8s Blitz:
Parnells were delighted to send 2 teams of 9-a-side to the under 8 blitz in Abbeydorney on Saturday. The was a great chance for our players to get experience and all of the boys and girls got ample game time over the course of 3 games for each team. This was a major blitz, with 2 teams from Abbeydorney as well as other visiting teams from Crotta, Ballyheigue, Kilmoyley, St. Brendan’s Ardfert, Lixnaw. Across our 2 teams, we played 6, won 3 drew 2, lost one. So overall a great day out. Our thanks to the organisers for this excellent opportunity.

Under 12/10 Camogie League:
A busy Saturday morning in Caherslee for our girls, as we faced off against all 3 of the other members of the Kerry Camogie league, in matches between 10am and 12:30 pm. We had a great turnout of 14 players and Causeway who brought a large travelling panel, gave us a chance to field 12 girls in the opener. This game time is invaluable and the mentors could see the development and continuing improvement in the girls due to the recent Croke Park blitz and the very useful game last week in Causeway.

We faced a stiff challenge again in our second game against KillArd, but the home players were undaunted and went through in the opening minutes to score the first goal. By the time the final game against Killarney came around, there were a lot of tired legs, but showing great character, our girls had saved their best for last.

In a thrilling encounter there was never more than a goal between the teams and Parnells showed great spirit and ability in scoring 5 well earned goals, to finish just one score behind at the final whistle. If this panel keep improving at this rate, they have a very bright future and the parents and mentors gave them very well earned praise for their efforts throughout the 3 games.

Lining out for Parnells on the day we had Caoimhe Donnelly, Anna Kerdzaia, Clodagh O Sullivan, Shona O’Connor, Roise O’Donnell, Rachel Sergeant, Aoife O’Sullivan, Ailisha Daughton, Danielle Griffin, Caoimhe Lyons, Emma McCluskey, Labhaoise Mansfield, Jessica O’Loughlin, Saoirse Maloney.

Under 14 boys County League:

I am involved with the Under 14 set up with Dermot and Martin Lowe and I was wondering if you could tell me when or if there will be a coaching course being run by the Kerry County Board? I am egar to know as I would like to get more involved with the club.

    Yours Sincerly,
