Sympathies
The club would like to offer its sincere sympathies to the O’Sullivan family on the recent passing of Columb McBride, father to Maria, father-in-law to Mike Roger and grandfather to Ruairí, Clodagh, Cathal and Áine. May he Rest in Peace.

Trath na gCeist

Quiz team Donnacha Buttimer, Dermot Reen, Damien Kissane and Stephen Buttimer.

The club was represented in Comhairle na Mumhan Trath na gCeist final in Mallow on Wednesday nightby Damien Kissane, Dermot Reen, Donnacha Buttimer and Stephen Buttimer. Rinne an fhoireann a dhícheall ach ní raibh an t-ádh leo.

The lads performed really well and just missed out on a place in the All Ireland Final by finishing 4th with 3 teams to qualify. Good luck to the 2 Kerry teams that qualified, Rathmore and Churchill, in the final next Saturday in Croke Park.

Scór na nÓg

The county finals of Scór na nÓg will be held in Glenbeigh next Sunday morning at 11:30am. Best of luck to our quiz team.

Club night out
A small but select few gathered in Sean Ógs last Saturday night to bring the curtain down on what was a historic and successful year for the club.

For the first time in its history, the club fielded Senior Mens and Ladies teams and the men certainly showed they deserved to be playing Senior hurling, having got to the County Intermediate Championship semi-final, beaten by the eventual winners Kilgarvan.

Our juveniles also had a great year, the highlight being participation in Féile na nGael, where the boys hosted Éire Óg, Carrickmore, Co. Tyrone and the girls hosted Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan.

Club Draw
At the club night out, the early sellers draw was held for those who had sold GAA National Draw tickets by the 7th December.

Íde Hennessy was the 1st prize winner and she can look forward to relaxing after Christmas in the Nadúr Spa in Ballygarry, followed by lunch and 2nd prize was won by Luke & Ryan Hanafin who won a hamper of Christmas goodies, Club merchandise & a session at The Sports Recovery Clinic. Please return any outstanding tickets as soon as possible to any member of the Club Executive.

Bag Packing
The club has two big bag packing fundraisers coming up over the next 2 weekends. Next Sunday 15th December, club members will be at Tesco’s in Manor and the following Sunday, 22nd December, they will be at Dunnes Stores, North Circular Road. Funds collected will be used towards the running of the club. Please look out for them and any support would be very much appreciated.

School’s Hurling
We are now guaranteed an all-Tralee final of the Munster Hurling GAA Post Primary Schools Senior E competition for the second year in a row. With Mercy, Mounthawk coming through to face Gaelcholáiste in one semi-final next Wed 11th December and Tralee CBS having overcome Cobh last Friday in the other semi-final in Crotta, there is surely now a strong case, for a prestige venue like Austin Stack Park in Tralee, to host this final showdown, as a well deserved recognition, of the continuing improvement in the development of underage hurling in the greater Tralee area. https://munstergaapps.ie/fixtures-results/
