Return to Training & Play
As announced by the GAA last Saturday, all senior and juvenile teams can return to full contact training and matches from Monday June 29th. Caherslee will be open again on 29th June and a training schedule is currently being finalised. Each team Manager will be in touch with their groups to confirm the start date and time – where teams are training on the same day, training times will be staggered to avoid too many teams on the pitch at the same time.

eLearning
The GAA’s eLearning module aims to inform those involved with the GAA and Camogie Association Clubs on their roles and responsibilities for the safe resumption of Gaelic games activities.

It is aimed at Covid Supervisors/Officers, Players/Team Personnel, and the Parents/Guardians of Underage Players.

Anyone present at Parnells training sessions/games must complete the elearning module in advance of a return to training to gain an understanding of the Safe Return Guidelines.

It takes 15 to 20mins and you are given your certificate after completing the module. This certificate must be retained as proof of completing the course.

Checklist for Parents/Guardians and Players before returning to training

Parents/Guardians and Players must complete the online education module. https://courses.gaa.ie/Covid19ClubEd
Parents/Guardians and Players shall ensure compliance with COVID-19 guidelines for their own health and safety and that of their team colleagues.
Parents/Guardians are responsible for dropping underage players to, and collecting underage players from, training sessions or games.
All Players are required to travel separately, exception for family members.
For drop off and collection, the principle of “get in, train and get out” will apply. Training times will be clearly identified.
Prior to commencing training, parents/guardians and players must complete the self-administered standard risk assessment health questionnaire. (“Health Questionnaire” – this will be covered in the Gaelic Games online education module).
This self-administered questionnaire will need to be completed only once, prior to initial return to training.
Before each training session and match, adult players and parents/guardians of underage players must sign declaration that health status has not changed
Do not attend training or matches if any of the following symptoms are present:

o Temperature over 37.5°

o Fever

o Cough

o Sore throat

o General weakness

o Shortness of breath

o Change on taste or smell

All Players are required to change at home, including any strapping to be applied.
There will be no dressing rooms open, therefore no showers.
No sharing of drinking bottles, all players must bring their own individual and clearly labelled water bottles.
Ensure players bring their own hurleys with their names on the hurley
All Parents/Guardians and Players must abide by the instructions of the Club Covid Supervisors.

Covid Supervisor

As per the GAAs Return to Play Guidelines, every Club should have Covid Supervisors who have undertaken the Covid-19 Club Education Module. The Club Executive will communicate the details of the appointed Covid Supervisor(s) for each team to all officers, players, coaching staff and parents/guardians and will ensure that appointed person(s) receive all necessary support to undertake the role.

As there needs to be one Covid Supervisor per team (hurling & camogie), the club still need a number of other Covid Supervisors. If you feel you can help out (even on a rota basis), please contact any member of the Executive or the Team Managers.
