Tralee Parnells 6-07 Kilmoyley 4-03
Tralee Parnells came out as victors in Round 2 of the U12 Hurling league in Kilmoyley on Friday evening. Despite being played in blustery and wet conditions, both teams served up a game packed with entertaining and skillful hurling. Playing into a stiff breeze in the first half, Parnells had to work very hard in defense to keep it Kilmoyley at bay. Despite having to do the majority of the defending, Parnells lead by 2-04 to 2-02 points at the interval.

As the second half progressed, Parnells gradually took control of the game with scores arriving at regular intervals. Kilmoyley keep pushing right to the final whistle but they day belonged to Tralee Parnells.

Tralee Parnells 3-12 Ballyduff 4-14
Parnells U14s had their second outing in the County League on Sunday morning in Ballyduff. Against a strong home side, the Parnells lads gave as good as they got and led by 2 pts at half time, thanks mainly to a brace of goals by Liam Cooper. HT Parnells 2-5 Ballyduff 1-6. Ballyduff came out of the blocks quickly in the second half and had soon regained the lead with 2 quick goals, with Parnells failing to score before the water break. But the Parnells lads never gave up and started to get on top again. Will Somers hit the net for the 3rd game in a row and brought Parnells right back into the match. However just as Parnells were mounting another attack, Ballyduff’s star player Evan Boyle intercepted a pass and drove through the defence to rattle the Parnells net. Parnells had one or two more chances to get the goals they needed but the shots just whistled over the bar. Short 2 regulars, this was a really impressive outing by Parnells and they can certainly take a lot of pride in this performance against the North Kerry heavyweights. Next up Lixnaw away on Bank Holiday Monday.
