Senior Camogie

Tralee Parnells club invites any sportswomen, aged 16 and older, to contact us via social media if they would like to train and play with our Senior Camogie team in 2021.  Our incoming management team looks forward to welcoming new players to online, pre-season training in March.  There will be a club street league to celebrate and launch the on-field season as soon as a return to match play is permitted.

The club is excited to have assembled an All-Munster management team for 2021, offering players a broad depth of coaching and on-field experience:

•             Áine Kelleher (Cork)

•             Gearóid O’Doherty (Clare)

•             Carmel O’Shea-Maloney (Kerry)

•             Mike Roger O’Sullivan (Limerick), and

•             P.J. Ryan (Tipperary)

Competition will be hot to represent the county in the All-Ireland Junior B Club Championship (subject to confirmation from Croke Park).  Join us for fitness, friendship, fun and to finesse your camogie skills.

Club Survey

As part of the update of the Strategic Plan the club has launched a short survey which is open to all members and friends of Tralee Parnells. We welcome input from all ages.  Juveniles aged 16+ are welcome to complete an individual Survey with their parents’ consent. The more responses the better.  The deadline is this Friday February 19 at 10pm.  The link to the survey can be found on our web page or on social media.

National Club Draw

The National Club Draw has been deferred until June and the club has asked to have all tickets returned by Tuesday 6th April.  Please keep up the momentum on ticket sales as all proceeds will go to the club’s capital fund which will be used to help secure a home ground and build a ball wall. The club’s top seller will win 2x tickets to the 2021 All-Ireland Hurling Final (Ts & Cs apply)!.  Extra tickets are available from David: 085-1355566

Every Step Counts Challenge

Remember to continue to track your activity on the GAA ‘Mylife Every Step Counts’ challenge. If we track more than 4k KM we are in with a chance of winning some O’Neills vouchers for the club.  With two full weeks to go it looks like we will be very close to the 4k target.  We ideally would need a few more to join, simply download the MyLife App and join the Munster Challenge and select Tralee Parnells Hurling & Camogie Club. You must be over 18 years of age to register.  As outdoor gatherings may not take place under current restrictions, please ensure that you abide by the latest public health guidelines. Get active, Stay healthy and Stay safe!

Croke Park Update

GAA headquarters issued an update last week on the current Covid restrictions.  A return to inter-county play is not permitted at present and this position is not expected to change in the coming weeks.  The GAA’s Covid Advisory group expects that no on-field activity will be permitted until Easter at the earliest.  It is expected that the Governments updated ‘Living with Covid’ plan will provide clarity on when clubs and counties can return to training and games in 2021.

Lockdown Activities

While we wait for restrictions to be eased, keep an eye on our web page https://traleeparnellshurling.blogspot.com/ and search for Lockdown Drills where you will find some drills and activities for all age groups.
