Great turnout for Hurling coaching course:

It was very encouraging to see the turnout at IT Tralee for the first night of the Parnells club foundation/refresher Hurling coaching course. being run by David O’Dea. There were some familiar faces from Parnells coaching ranks who were there for a refresher.

It was fantastic to also see several Parnells moms and dads who have been great club supporters in the past and who came along to take the next step of completing the GAA Foundation Coaching Course. Thank you for Volunteering. Our team managers will be delighted to have these new recruits helping us, as we gear up for a 2016 season, that looks set to be our busiest yet.

March with Parnells on the 17th:

Marchers wanted on the 17th to keep a new Club tradition going. Tralee Parnells have participated in the Tralee St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 2014 and again in 2015. Each year we have brought along a set of goals for our goalies to try their shot-stopping abilities against volunteer children from among the onlookers as we march along. This caught the eye of RTE and Pascal Sheehy got us on the 6 o’clock news round up of parades. See online at

Camogie Photos:
Some nice photos of our camogie teams are posted on our club blog at

There is also a nice photo on Facebook, taken at the Kerry Camogie County Board launching of the Kerry Camogie ‘Golden Ticket ‘ ahead of their annual table quiz. The quiz night was a very enjoyable evening in Kerins O’Rahilly’s Clubhouse, well done to the organisers.

Hold the date:
Parnells have blocked out Sat Sep 3 (the eve of the All-Ireland Hurling Final) for the Tralee Parnells 2016 Club Day/Monster Blitz. Details to follow in future notes.
