Under 10s at Austin Stack Park:

There was a fantastic turnout of our Parnells under 10 boys and girls, over 30 of them played an exhibition game at halftime of the senior hurling game that saw a great Kerry victory over Laois last Saturday April 2nd in Austin Stack Park, Tralee.  There is a nice photo of this impressive crew and mentors on our Parnells face book page at Parnells Facebook

Under 14s:

Tralee Parnells  under 14s played Crotta O’Neill’s in round 2 of the co.league on Saturday night. In an entertaining game played in excellent conditions, Parnells unfortunately  were defeated 2-10 to 1-06. The game was in the balance at half time with Parnells  matching their opponents. The team showed great spirit throughout but their inability to take scoring opportunities cost them dearly.  Two late goals for Crotta sealed the victory.

Parnells should be happy with their display and will take a lot of positives from the game.  Attendance at training and player attitude is vital to this panel if we are to progress. Saturday’s  game was another step forward in developing our under 14s. The team played well in general with the defense in particular very good. Tadhg Reen and Cian Cronin played very well and Jonathan Lowe was excellent at wing back.Terence Carmody shone also and Luke Chester was the best forward on view. Well done to the team on their display.

Minors:

Parnells minors lined out for their first 2016 encounter, a North Kerry fixture vs Causeway.  2015 was the first year our young club had a minor presence of any kind, so it was a great achievement and milestone to field a team that has more older players this year, with not as much need to rely on our under 16 squad.  The advantage in higher average age and greater seasoning of the visitors to Caherslee was evident from the start, but the Parnells battled on to the finish.  If we can relocate a few lost sheep and emulate the commitment and leadership shown by several of our players in this fixture, we can continue to improve and to compete at more demanding levels.

Under 16s:

The under 16 game vs Abbeydorney has been rearranged for Sunday 10th April in Caherslee at 6.30pm.

Online Registration:

We strongly encourage all Parnells members to please complete 2016 child and adult registrations online.  This reduces the burden on our volunteers of manually transcribing paper forms and handling cash.  To register online, simply visit: register.
