traleeparnells 2Tralee Parnells one of 20 Best Sports Clubs in Ireland:

There has been huge excitement around the Tralee Parnells Club ever since people opened the Irish Times on Saturday the 28th of May and immediately started texting each other the great news.

Our small renascent club has been shortlisted as one of the 20 Best Sports Clubs in Ireland.  This is a huge honour for the club, a recognition of the great progress made in just about 4 years and more importantly the huge potential to go further and to realise the ambitious but vital goals and dreams described in our recently launched club Strategic Plan.

There will be a tense couple of weeks now, as the judges set about their unenviable task of whittling down this list of 20 fantastic clubs, to a final shortlist of just 5.  Great credit is due to Carmel O’Shea-Maloney, whose inspiring entry to the Irish Times Best Sports Clubs in Ireland competition, earned us this wonderful recognition.

Great  Féile B Performance:

Great performance by our Tralee Parnells Camogie under 14s in the Féile B final played at Currow GAA. This was an exciting game to watch and could have gone either way right up to the final whistle.

It is great to see the improvement in skills, teamwork and overall performance among these players compared to last year. Keep it up girls and Tralee Parnells Hurling & Camogie Club has a bright future in Kerry Camogie.

Parnells players listed in the official programme; Anna Kerdaia, Siobhan Foran, Katie Dwyer, Chloe Griffin, Sarah Barrett, Fiona Kerdaia, Clodagh Begley, Lucy Murphy, Lia O’Connell, Saoirse Maloney, Ruth O’Connell, Aine O’Sullivan, Yasmine Sultan, Clodagh O Sullivan, Caragh O’Neill, Hannah Sharkey.

Hurling Summer Camp 2016:

To help with planning of our summer camp we need an idea of the number of players taking part.  Please text 0851355566 if your child is interested in doing the camp.  July 11th – 13th in Caherslee GAA grounds for boys and girls aged 7 to 14.  Cost for the camp is €25.  The Easter Camp 2016 was a very popular success and this coaching and development programme will continue in July.

CBS First Year Hurler Award:

Congratulations to Devon Burns, awarded CBS The Green First Year Hurler of the Year 2015-2016.  Great achievement, especially considering coming back from injury recently.

Well Done Darragh:

Well done to Parnells player Darragh Maloney who came third in the County Primary Skills Competition with a score of 26/27.  Darragh was representing his school Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn.  Saoirse Maloney and Edward Sheehy performed well in the competition and were also representing Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn.
