Summer Camp 2016:
Great turnout at our Parnells 2016 Summer Camp. See the photos of the dedicated crew online at https://www.facebook.com/TraleeParnellsHurlingClub/ Lots of enjoyment, judging by this Facebook post … End of our Summer camp today and we had a fantastic 3 days, the fact that kids and parents asked for another day or two is a credit to the coaches and their assistants.

Thanks to all the kids who were great fun. Well done to camp coordinator Eamon Fitzgerald his coaches Julianne O’Keeffe, Jordan Brick and Brendan O’Leary. Well done to Parnells players Darragh Reen, Cillian O’Riordan and Sean Hartnett for their help. Were going bigger next time!!!!

Under 16s:
Parnells under 16s faced Lixnaw in Caherslee in the county shield quarter final Sunday the 17th. On a warm bright evening, it was a good enjoyable contest and both teams traded scores to go in at half time not far apart.

We saw solid displays across the panel during both halves. Robin made a number of saves on the line, Sean O’Driscoll, Martin Savage and Cian Cronin were all resolute in defence, with Cian clearing several dangerous balls from the area. Joe Hanafin, Kenny Fitzgerald and Jonathan Lowe did good coverage across the half back line. Kenny and Cathal Dunne were tireless around the center and created attack after attack.

Ruarí O Sullivan and Darragh Reen swept up well in the middle and drove ball forward. Lee O’Byrne who is back from his travels made a welcome return alongside Darragh Fitzgerald and both attacked well, while Luke Chester provided a constant scoring threat alongside Kevin O’Connor who battled well for possession.

Parnells ran out of steam in the warm and tiring conditions late in the game and the Lixnaw bench helped provide the fresh legs to keep them ahead at the finish. Lining out for Parnells we had Robin Porter, Sean O’Driscoll, Martin Savage, Cian Cronin, Joe Hanafin, Kenny Fitzgerald, Jonathan Lowe, Cathal Dunne, Ruarí O Sullivan, Darragh Reen, Lee O’Byrne, Darragh Fitzgerald, Luke Chester, Kevin O’Connor, Mark Roche, Brian Hamilton, Terence Carmody.
