AGM:
Tralee Parnells club AGM was held at 9 pm in Kerins O Rahillys clubhouse, Friday 18th of November 2016.  We welcomed a few new faces to the executive and thanked those mentors taking a break for 2017.  Full list of club officers to follow in upcoming notes.

PRO Report to the AGM:
The following are extracts from the PRO Report to the AGM.  We hope to have officer and team manager reports available online with links from our social media accounts.

From the perspective of Communication and Public Relations, 2016 has been another busy and interesting year, with increased activity once again to surpass the levels we saw during 2015.  We have some notable new milestones and successes to report in the ongoing growth and development of Tralee Parnells.

Following a process of intensive consultation and collaboration in early months of the year, our Tralee Parnells Club Strategic Plan, focusing of 6 specific areas of development, was ratified by the Club Executive.

On a Friday night in early May 2016, the Tralee Parnells Hurling & Camogie Club held combined official launches of our Club Strategic Plan and our Healthy Clubs Initiative.  Featuring Zumba as the Grand Finale, this was a most enjoyable evening for all ages in Caherslee.  A full copy of the Tralee Parnells Club Strategic Plan is available on request from the PRO.

The Big Blitz held on Saturday, September 3rd, saw what must surely once again represent the most players, playing the most games, ever attempted in Tralee on a single day, topping our already impressive 2015 numbers.

Well done to all the club members who gave of their time before hand and during the day, to make it such a success and such a great public statement, of what Parnells are all about.    Our Camogie under 12 and our Camogie under 14 teams won the County Under 12 B and Under 14 B finals for the first time ever on Saturday the 24th of September in Caherslee.

We have no record of Camogie silverware won by Tralee in the past, so this looks like a fantastic double first for Tralee Parnells Hurling & Camogie Club.  This is the kind of positive and encouraging progress and development, which gives Tralee Parnells great profile, kudos and publicity, the likes of which no amount of money could buy.

One goal in the Club Strategic Plan, Communication, Public Relations and Culture (item 7) requests that 1 parent per age group, be asked to volunteer to help the club by sending in Match Reports or other snippets of team news, via email or Facebook, at least monthly during the season.  A brief introduction and some guidelines are available to any parents who volunteer.

We feel this is a modest proposal and would ask the AGM to support its introduction for the start of the 2017 season.    Of the 14 development items listed in the Club Strategic Plan under Section 3: “Communication, Public Relations and Culture”, 5 have already been completed by Q4 of 2016.  A further 3 have proposals in this report for early progression.

The bulk of the remaining 6, are scheduled for 2017 to 2019 and beyond and will hopefully be achieved, in time for the report to the AGMs those upcoming years.

The entire Club Strategic Plan is scheduled for its first annual review at the 2016 AGM and we would welcome any constructive proposals for the Communication and Public Relations area, that fall within the SMART guidelines of being Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-framed.
