Defibrillator for Parnells:
We are delighted to announce that Irish Life are kindly covering the cost of a new defibrillator for the Tralee Parnells club.

Once it is on site, we will have a photo on our Facebook of our project team with the defibrillator at our training ground.

We are delighted to give our acknowledgement of Irish Life’s contribution to this vital item of life saving equipment.

This is all part of the Parnells Healthy Clubs initiative and the provision of this AED is further testament to the great work being done by Roz Fitzgerald and her Healthy Clubs team in the club.

Reports to the AGM:
Continuing our extracts from Reports to the AGM, this time looking at Scór.  In 2016 Parnells made history by entering the Scór na bPáistí.

The club entered the Instrumental music, Recitation and the Quiz. The Instrumental Group represented themselves well playing two tunes after only coming together a short time before the event.

The group included: Katie Dwyer, Jessica McGibney, Peter Doyle, Ryan Sheehy and Sean Michael Redican. Ailisha Daughton represented the club very well in the recitation.

The Quiz Team were successful in their first year. Coached by Ger Reidy this team went all the way and won Bronze. A GAA county medal is a precious possession and Katie Dwyer, can now add this medal to the repertoire.

A wonderful performance by last year’s groups gives us the confidence to build on 2016’s performances. We look forward to encouraging and nurturing new performances in Scór in 2017.

We aim to participate in new categories as well. Outside of Scór we have aim to participate in the St Patrick’s Day Parade.

We hope that this might encourage our young people to have their own traditional group which will be led by volunteers in the future. It is the aim of Parnells to promote appreciation of our culture, not just through completions but through fun activities such as playing together.
