Tralee Rower Wins First In Indoor Rowing Championship

Daithi O’Regan, Nicolas Larkin and Bela Winde of Tralee Rowing Club who all took part in the Provinces Irish Indoor Rowing Championship on Saturday.

TRALEE Rowing Club junior member Nicolas Larkin won 1st place in the Provinces Irish Indoor Rowing Championship, held in the Sports Arena in UL (University of Limerick) last Saturday.

He won the Junior 14 time lapsed race, with an impressive 1,181 metres in 4 minutes among 55 competitors in his category.

Nicolas has been a junior member of Tralee Rowing Club since 2015 but only started competing in October this year.

He was delighted with his result and very grateful of all the support and training he has received from his coaches and fellow members.

Daithi O’Regan, Junior 15, and Bela Winde, Junior 16, also competed at this event, obtaining excellent results. Daithi reached a personal best mark and Bela was 6th among 45 competitors in his category.

Around 900 athletes took part of the Provinces championship in Limerick. The 2018 Irish Indoor Rowing Championship will take place on Saturday, January 20 in the UL Sports Arena. Further information and full races results are available on the event website www.iirc.ie
