A CURRENT Tralee RFC player has been named in the squad for the first ever Ireland women’s Autumn international.
Zoe Grattage has been named in a squad of 22 alongside 10 other uncapped players and joins Tralee native, Ruth O’Reilly of Galwegians in the panel.
Zoe will follow in the footsteps of club-mates, Siobhan Fleming and Ciara Griffin, who have pulled on the green shirt.
The momentous first autumn international will be against England at Harlequin’s Twickenham Stoop, on Saturday, November 14.
The Tralee RFC and Munster player was given her chance to impress when she was called up for her first Ireland training session three weeks ago in Belfast.
Last year, Ireland reached the semi-finals of the World Cup, beating New Zealand on the way and capturing the imagination of the nation.
Coming up in November are two internationals against England and France, after that the focus will be on claiming back to back Six Nations titles.
