THE delayed construction of the Tralee Skate Park is finally scheduled to begin on March 1.
Sinn Féin Cllr Cathal Foley asked for an update on the project at the online meeting of the Tralee Municipal District of Kerry County Council on Tuesday morning.
Council management said the appointed contractor for the project, Bencrete Ltd, had only recently recommenced operations in the Republic of Ireland following significant delays due to Brexit and Covid.

They have just completed a project in Co. Offaly and are scheduled to commence Tralee Skatepark on March 1 when dry and frost-free periods of weather can be anticipated in two to three day blocks.
The construction of highly polished concrete surfaces as in skateparks is highly weather sensitive. The Skate Park will be located on land near Tralee Sports and Leisure Centre.
