A GOFUNDME page has been launched to get the much anticipated Tralee Stake Park over the line.

Justin McCarthy has been involved with the campaign from the start and said the park is almost ready to build at a site adjacent to the Tralee Sports Complex, with a tender awarded and planning secured.

However a final €18,000 is needed to reach the €200,000 needed to start the build so Justin has started the Tralee Skate Park ‘One Last Push’ fundraiser which has realised nearly €3,000 so far.

“It will be a fantastic addition to the town and will attract out of town visitors,” said Justin. “It is also a great creative outlet for young people who have interests outside of the sports that are currently catered for in the town. Skateboarding offers a creative way of thinking and viewing your surroundings. Many get into photography, design and videography through this.”

“The skatepark is to be built to the highest spec with obstacles for all abilities while offering plenty room for progression,” said Justin.
