Tralee Sports Complex, KDL And Kerry GAA To Receive Grants

THE Tralee Sports and Leisure Complex will receive €31,000 from the government in the latest sports capital grants allocation.

The Kerry District Soccer League and Kerry GAA will also benefit from grants.

Sports Capital grants for Kerry in 2017 have broken through the two million euro mark with these three new allocations for the county under the regional section of the scheme.

Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Brendan Griffin TD, today announced the further €168,000, in addition to the €1.86 Million that he announced in late November.

The three Kerry applicants to benefit from the latest funding are:
1. The Kerry District Soccer League, which will receive €76,000 towards the laying of a second full size astro turf pitch at Mounthawk Park, Tralee, to be used by soccer clubs from all parts of Kerry.
2. The Kerry County GAA Board, which will receive €61,000 towards the equipping of the high tech gym at the Kerry GAA Centre of Excellence at Currans.
3. Tralee Sports and Leisure Complex, which will receive €31,000 towards equipment.

Minister Griffin said that he is glad to be able to help Soccer, Gaelic Games and other sports in Kerry through this funding and has visited all of the facilities involved.
