Tralee Start-Ups Make Regional Shortlist For National Awards

THREE Tralee-based companies are among six Kerry start-ups to make the regional shortlist for the National Startup Awards. and myAccessHub are based in the Tom Crean Centre at Kerry Technology Park while Ulluv has a base in HQ Tralee.

They are joined by Expert Software Test (Killorglin), Hazel Comyn Designs (Cahersiveen) and Wild Adventure Way (Kenmare) in making the shortlist for the Bank of Ireland and Enterprise Ireland competition.

In all there are 109 companies shortlisted across 14 categories.  The competition recognises and rewards Irish startups for their success in business.

Expert Software Test has been shortlisted in the eCommerce and Fintech categories in Munster, Hazel Comyn Designs has been shortlisted in the Retail & Fashion category in Munster, myAccessHub has been shortlisted in the Social / Sustainable category in Munster, has been shortlisted in the Tech category in Munster, Ulluv has been shortlisted in the Retail & Fashion category in Munster and Wild Adventure Way has been shortlisted in the Travel & Tourism category in Munster.

A €15,000 prize fund is up for grabs at this year’s awards, with the overall winner set to walk away with a prize of €10,000 and the best early stage startup set to receive €5,000 to further grow and develop their businesses.

The competition, now in its seventh year, has become a pivotal date in the Irish startup calendar. The best and brightest startup companies are recognised at a national level for their dedication, resilience and perseverance and for contributing so much to the nation’s economy.

The regional shortlist was decided by a series of regional judging panels. This regional shortlist will be judged again, to produce the national shortlist for the awards which will be announced on May 2nd.

The national shortlist entrants will then be invited to pitch their businesses live to a national judging panel in Dublin in early May and the national awards will take place in Dublin on Thursday, May 17.
