TRALEE Tennis Club recently had two pairings in the final of the Lakewood Open, which took place in Cork, from March 31 to April 9.
Shane Roche and Gemma Lougheed won the Grade 5 Mixed Doubles title after playing four tough matches throughout the week and, as a result of the win, will move up to Grade 4.
Timmy Hennessey and Sorcha Finnegan had an impressive run to the final, but were narrowly beaten in three sets.
It’s a great start to the season because members of Tralee had to travel up each day to clubs in Cork and Limerick while taking part in the opens.
Meanwhile, the club is holding a Junior Day on Sunday, May 14, which includes a great day of tennis, bouncy castles and family fun.
