Tralee Venues To Host Events For Kerry Biodiversity Week

THERE are lots of events happening in the Tralee area and around the county for Kerry Biodiveristy Week 2018, running from May 19-27.

From land- based whale watching to bat walks, a dawn chorus walk, plant identification walks, a swift talk and walk, nature walks and an organic farm biodiversity walk and more around Kerry.

This week is organised by Kerry County Council and local community and environmental groups and all events are free of charge.

Some of the Tralee events include a Organic Food and Biodiversity Walk at Gortbrack Organic Farm on this Saturday from 10.30am to 12.30pm, a Bat Walk at Tralee Wetlands and Ballyseedy Wood on Tuesday, May 22 from 8pm to 10pm, How To Carry Out A Simple Wild Plant Survey at Siamsa Tire on Saturday, May 26 at 11am to 12 noon; Gardening For Life workshops at Tralee Wetlands on the same afternoon.

There are also events in Ballyheigue, Annascaul, at Killarney House and on the Dingle Peninsula. Kerry Irish Wildlife Trust will have a slideshow of their photographs in the lobby of Siamsa Tíre during the week. To find out more and see all the events, check out their facebook page here.
