A TRALEE woman who met her doppelgänger last year thanks to the twin strangers.com website, was reunited with her ‘twin’ for a Channel 4 documentary screened last night.

Shannon Lonergan from Ballyrickard appeared on ‘Finding My Twin Stranger’ with her lookalike, Sara Nordstrom from Sweden and six other ‘twins’ for the documentary to find out – with the help of the Department of Twin Research at St Thomas’ Hospital in London what they can learn from the non-related pairs and to see which pair is the most identical.

The pairs went through a number of scientific tests and got to spend time with each other to see how alike they really were.

Shannon first met her ‘twin’ Sara around this time last year (click here for previous story). The twinstrangers.com website was set up by Castleisland native, Niamh Geaney and her two friends, Terence Manzanga and Harry English from Dublin City University as part of an experiment called Twin Stranger to find doppelgängers around the world.
