TRIBUTES have been paid to Timmy Sheehan who passed away yesterday.
The Austin Stacks clubman was known far and wide for his contributions, commentary and analysis of sport on Radio Kerry, his writing in The Kerryman newspaper and a glittering club career for the Rockies.
On the Austin Stacks club’s website, a tribute read; “There was sorrow and disbelief throughout the county and beyond on Tuesday afternoon when news broke of the sudden death of Timmy Sheehan”. Timmy won a Minor Hurling Co. Championship with Stacks in 1967, before going on to win four senior football county championships in 1973, 1975, 1976 and 1979. He also won a Munster and an All Ireland Club Championship medal during the 1976/77 season.
He later played with the Junior teams and was a coach and manager of many teams at both Junior and Senior levels down the years. He also played basketball and soccer and was an ardent supporter of Liverpool FC.

Timmy Sheehan is survived by his wife, Anne, son Billy, daughter Lorraine, daughter in law Marie and his grandsons, relatives and wide circle of friends. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
