IT was another great night for Tralee Boxing Club as John and Mike McCarthy returned home as Munster Boxing Champions in the wee hours of the morning from Waterford.
John McCarthy (Y1 48kg) outboxed Dean O’Brien of Charleville BC winning all three rounds comfortably. Mike McCarthy (Y1 50kg) boxed James Casey Southside BC Limerick.
“Mike again showed his class winning handy as Casey hardly laid a glove on him for three rounds,” said Donie Jack Griffin of Tralee Boxing Club. “These lads are training for the past seven years sparring each other day in day out bringing each other on every day.”

“Along with Patrick McCarthy being the reigning Irish Champion, these three have a great bond between them and it was great to see both of them winning on the night,” said Donie.
The three boys have no time to rest as Friday next sees them heading for the National Stadium for the 2018 All Irelands, along with their coaches Tommy Kelliher and Donie Jack Griffin.
