Kentucky Rose - Emily Hughes

Kentucky Rose, Emily Hughes whose dad, Mickey played for Tyrone.

CURRENTLY embroiled in a bit of controversy, the Tyrone senior team showed their lighter side by supporting the Kentucky Rose who has strong Tyrone connections.

Midfielder Colm Kavanagh tweeted a team photo showing their support for Kentucky Rose, Emily Hughes, who is the daughter of 70’s Tyrone player, Micky Hughes.

Currently in the news, wing forward Tiernan McCann, can be seen in the photo (back row, fourth from left). He made waves last Saturday when his now infamous locks were disturbed by Monaghan’s Darren Hughes.

As soon as McCann’s hair was ruffled he hit the deck and the Monaghan man hit the showers.

For his part in the incident, McCann has received an eight week ban that has ruled him out for Sunday week’s semi-final against Kerry and the All-Ireland final as well, should the unthinkable happen.

With not much else to bother his time with over the next two months, maybe, McCann can lend his support to the Tyrone cause in other ways?

We reckon, it’s time for McCann to put down the football, get down to Tralee, pick up a can of hairspray and help out the Kentucky Rose with all his follicle expertise.
