UNIVERSITY Hospital Kerry management has extended the deferral of Out Patient Scheduled appointments and elective surgeries, with the exception of time critical surgery, for Thursday and Friday.

Exceptions to the cancelled clinics are:
– Orthopaedic Trauma Clinics;
– Infusion Clinics;
– Dressings Clinic
– Cardiology Out Patient scans & procedures;
– Radiology Out Patient imaging/procedures;
– Virtual Clinics;
– Antenatal Clinics;
– Oncology and Palliative Care Clinics;
– Colposcopy & Hysteroscopy Clinics at Cíll Ide;

Other than the above listed clinics, University Hospital Kerry is requesting that patients do not attend scheduled outpatient and elective surgery appointments UNLESS you receive a call from UHK staff.

Any cancelled appointments are being worked on presently with a view to early rescheduling. Should you have an urgent query in relation to an appointment, please contact the relevant Consultant’s secretary.

Hospital Management have also requested that, where appropriate, the public contact GPs/South Doc in the first instance and explore all other options available to them prior to presenting to the Emergency Department.

Hospital visiting also remains restricted to one visit per patient per week and those on compassionate grounds only.

UHK has set up a specific email address so that patients can receive direct messages. Communications from friends and family can be e-mailed to: uhk.keepingcontact@hse.ie

Be sure to include on the subject line the Patient’s Full Name, Ward Name (if known) and the first line of the patient’s home address.

UHK have an initiative to facilitate Video Calls using WhatsApp on Digipads for patients who do not have SMART phone/devices. Please contact Ward Manager/Nurse in Charge to request video call with your loved one.
