Ulsan Dillane makes a break for the line during today’s game against England.

IT was a proud day for the Dillane family in Tralee as a local man made his debut for Ireland, making a great impression in the game against England in Twickenham.

The former Tralee RFC player came on with 15 minutes to go and made an immediate impact.

On 70 minutes he was instrumental in a move which saw Ireland drive for the line. There was tremendous interplay between Dillane and van der Flier, with the Tralee man bursting through two tackles and taking a return pass from van der Flier. However, while England infringed five metres out and momentum was lost.

It was a promising debut performance and the whole of Tralee must have been shouting him on in those closing stages. It sets him up nicely to be blooded even further in the final two games against Scotland and Italy. Well done Ultan.
