THERE are 468 less people on the live register in Tralee than this time last year, but the town still accounts for more than a third of Kerry’s unemployed.
In January 2014 there was a total 5,996 people unemployed in Tralee, by the end of December the number was 5,528. This was a fall of 7.8% from January to December.
In the year, unemployment was at its lowest in October with a figure of 5,410 and at its highest in June at 6,063.
There was a spike in the amount of people signing on in June when the number increased by 215 and a drop off in September of 559. Presumably because of people going back to or starting college courses.
The county as a whole saw a greater reduction in unemployment with it falling by a rate 9% in 2014. The number in the county is now 13,363 with Tralee contributing more than a third of the total number unemployed in Kerry.
THATS BECAUSE MOST OF THE PEOPLE HAVE LEFT.
IN MY FAMILY ALONE 6 HAVE LEFT IN THE PAST YEAR.
LETS NOT KID OURSELVES
