The school had video footage detailing Bríd’s involvement at school over the last number years.

Her classmates then wrote a script, with the children taking on the roles of TV news presenters, reporting from different events, linking Bríd’s activities together.

The ‘Someone Like Me’ competition promotes positive attitudes towards disability in primary schools. It develop student’s knowledge and understanding of disabilities and celebrates difference amongst students and the way each student learns.

The award was presented to Bríd by Minister of State for New Communities, Culture and Equality, Aodhán Ó Ríordáin, at a special ceremony held in Farmleigh House.
