BALLYHEIGUE man Richie Stack beat a five time Irish champion at an MMA tournament at the weekend.
Richie, who fights out of Spirit MMA in Tralee defeated former champ Alex O’Sullivan at the Celtic Gladiator show at City North Conference Centre on the outskirts of Dublin county.
The 29-year-old is aiming now to represent Ireland in the European Championships at the end of the year. Despite being a relative newcomeer to MMA he has had a successful few years winning on on the national and international stage.

“I am training now three years so I started late compared to others which shows anyone can do it I think!” said a modest Richie.
In that time Richie has won, Pro fight European 2013/2014, Premier championship cork 2013, Cork open 2014, Brazilian Jiu jitsu league 2013/2015, Dublin City Open 2015 and Lightweight MMA league Cork 2013.
He has also fought on the popular MMA fighting shows, ‘Celtic Gladiator’, ‘Battlezone’ and ‘Westside K1’. Check out the video of Richie’s finish (below) along with an interview he did MMA Connect TV (further below).
