OK, earlier we brought you footage of the 1974 Rose of Tralee Festival from the British Movietone archive, but here’s an even better archive film.
This time it’s from the 1977 Festival won by Orla Burke from Waterford. The narrator talks about the Festival being worth £2m to the economy while there’s some great film of the donkey derby, the parade featuring elaborate floats, Ardfert GAA youngsters and explosive motorcycle action in the Town Park.
