A still from the video from Moyderwell primary school pupils backing Kerry for the All-Ireland.

YOU wait a year for a Tralee primary school-related music video cheering on Kerry and then two come on the same day!

Are they doing any lessons this week in our primary schools?

First we had the two CBS pupils expertly grilling Darragh Ó Sé on his career, then the Scoil Eoin kids made a great video encouraging Kerry to ‘Rock Them Dubs’ which we posted today.

Now Moyderwell Mercy Primary School pupils are making good use of their iPads, under the co-ordination of teacher, Denis Griffin, with their own song in support of the Kerry team.

Pupils from Múinteoir Eoin Sayers’ 5th Class adapted the lyrics of Walk the Moon’s – “Shut Up and Dance” to a version that will definitely get the Kingdom moving over the next week.

Titled “Bring Sam Back To Kerry”, pupils from all different classes were involved in singing and recording the video of their new song while participating in a wide range of activities throughout the school.

Moyderwell Primary are no stranger to the recording process having already filmed “Kerry4Sam – Shake Them Off” last September and again over the Summer with “Radio Leader” – a song to celebrate Radio Kerry’s 25th birthday which in turn won the school an impressive €5000 for their efforts.

According to Principal Moira Quinlan; “It’s been a fantastic experience again for all involved. Classes from Junior Infants to 6th Class got involved in one way or another and it created terrific interest and superb energy about the All-Ireland Final as Kerry takes on Dublin for the Senior match and Tipperary for the Minor game.”

Lyrics
Bring Sam back to Kerry
Oh don’t you know who’s back.
No more dodgy knee
He says, “No holding back, “
We say, “Bring Sam back to Kerry”
This trophy is our destiny
Shout, Ooh-ooh-hoo,
Bring Sam back to Kerry

The celebrations we had that night,
The universe had been put to right
Thanks to the boss and our leading lights
Oh, it was bound to come together,
Bound to come together.

Sam’s in our arms
Again it’s going to happen.
We own Croke Park and we say,

Oh don’t you know who’s back?
Foireann peille Ciarraí
They say, “Don’t hold us back, “
We say, “Bring Sam back to Kerry”
This trophy is our destiny
Shout, Ooh-ooh-hoo,
Bring Sam back to Kerry

No packed de-fence or nasty streaks,
JOD is back, The Gooch yeah footballs dream.
I feel it in my chest as Fitz looks at me.
We know we’ve got to stick together,
Got to stick together
Sam’s in our arms
Again it going to happen.
We own Croke Park and we say,

Oh don’t you know who’s back.
Gooch, JOD and Donaghy
They say “No holding back, “
We say, “Bring Sam back to Kerry”
This trophy is our destiny
Shout, Ooh-ooh-hoo,
Bring Sam back to Kerry

Come on the Kingdom!

Ná bac le Tír Eoghan,
Corcaigh nó Cill Dara
inár gcoinne ní raibh aon seans!
Táimid ar ais
ag lorg the double double
We own Croke Park and we say,

Oh don’t you know who’s back.
Listen, Joe Brolly
He says “there is no chance”
We say “Bring Sam back to Kerry”
This trophy is our destiny
Shout, Ooh-ooh-hoo,
Bring Sam back home

Oh don’t you know who’s back.
Marc, David and Geaney
They say, “No holding back,”
We say, “Bring Sam back to Kerry”
This trophy is our destiny
Shout, Ooh-ooh-hoo,
Bring Sam back to Kerry

Ooh-ooh-hoo, Bring Sam back to Kerry [x2]
