MOYDERWELL Primary School has scooped the top prize of €5,000 in the ‘Radio Kerry ‘Catch Our Attention €5k’ giveaway competition.
Kerry Today host, Jerry O’Sullivan, announced the school as the winners of the competition this morning on his show, as they just edged out the two other shortlisted finalists in Breda Daly and Alison Slattery.
“It’s a fantastic day for us, I’m thrilled and proud to be part of the school and to be principal of such a wonderful staff. Well done to our múinteoirí who have taken part and a míle buíochas to everyone in Radio Kerry,” said Principal Moira Quinlan speaking to Jerry on Kerry Today this morning.

The competition was part of the radio station’s 25th birthday celebrations – which takes place today (Tuesday) – in which the people of Kerry were asked to submit entries to the station that would catch the eye of the judges at the station.
The members of the Moyderwell school community spent the last few days of the school year putting together their entry for the competition in which they created a video of their own version of the hit song ‘Cheerleader’ from OMI.
The winning prize money for the school is hoping to be used to further enhance the IT equipment throughout the school.
