Long Lake House in Tahilla, Sneem. A snip at €3.25m

GOT €3.25m to spare?

Long Lake House, situated between Kenmare and Sneem is on the market and it looks pretty amazing.

It was built in the 1980s and was bought by a Tipperary-born, San Franciso-based businessman back in 2001 for between £1.5m and £2.5m.

It’s a three-storey building on the edge of a lake which was built to spec for a German millionaire over the course of three years. The result is amazing.

The house itself is 10,000 sq ft, with formal gardens of 13 acres including ponds, a cedar-built staff cabin, a private pier, its own pontoon and mooring.

It has five-bedrooms with the interior largely floored in marble and granite and underfloor heating throughout.

The upper hall has a big open fireplace, a games room with pool table, open fire and access to a small deck.  The master bathroom, with separate ensuite, has jacuzzi bath with overhead shower.

The kitchen comprises an outsized centre island with counter tops in granite, a double sink, a breakfast counter island, and a desk counter with glass cupboards and under-counter lighting.

Three guest bedrooms, have their own hallway with built-in mirrored closets, separate bathrooms and private outdoor deck. There’s also a sauna, a steam room and a large jacuzzi tub.

If €3.25m is a bit out of your price range, then you could always buy next door — Tahilla Cove, at €1.95m. I’m off to do the Euromillions. Scroll down for a video tour and more photos below…
