FOR people who work in offices, the urge to fly around the place in an office chair, can be almost unbearable at times.

For long time sufferers, there is a fantastic opportunity to get it all out of your system next month, when the first ever ‘Christmas Office Chair Racing Championships’ takes place in town.

Tralee Chamber Alliance have teamed up with Radley’s Business Solutions to organise a unique, fun, charity event in aid of St Vincent de Paul as part of  the 2014 Christmas Spraoi.

The idea is to enter your company or sponsor a friend or colleague to race against a rival company in an office chair race.

The overall winner will receive a luxury office chair up to a value of €100. Presumably, so they can bring their office chair racing career to the next level.

The entry fee for the event is €50, with all proceeds going to St Vincent de Paul, who, at this time of year, are inundated with people seeking their assistance.

The office chair racing championships will take place Saturday December 20 at 2.30pm, on the Neil Armstrong Way, which is just outside the pedestrian entrance to Siamsa Tire.

“We are encouraging people to show goodwill this festive season by taking part in a novel and most likely hilarious event. Help us to help St Vincent de Paul make Christmas better for other while attracting people to Tralee,” said Kieran Ruttledge, CEO of Tralee Chamber Alliance.
