YES Vote

Billy Keane & Francie Conway have lent their support to the YES Vote Campaign.

WRITER Billy Keane and Tralee’s own Francie Conway  have lent their voices and support to the Yes Vote campaign in the upcoming referendum on same-sex marriage on May 22 in a new video.

The two men have recently uploaded a new video to YouTube in which they let their feelings known on the controversial referendum.

In the near seven minute video which was shot in John B. Keane’s Bar in Listowel, Billy sets about reading a number of passages from his columns in the Irish Independent on various reasons why people should vote ‘Yes’ in May.

“Is it fair to pre-judge a parent? Who are we to deny a citizen of the Republic Of Ireland in good standing the right to adopt a baby?” Billy says in the video in reference to responses made to his articles.

“If your daughter was a lesbian and she was in a loving relationship and wanted to have a baby…would you stop her?” he finishes.

Singer/songwriter Francie follows this with a rendition of the song ‘Love Takes No Prisoners’ which is being sung to “back up our gay brothers and sisters” says Billy.
