Tralee Town Park will air the ‘Raiders of The Lost Ark’ on July 17.

TRALEE Town Park will host fantastic free nights of movie entertainment as ‘Summer Open Air Cinema’ comes to town on Friday, July 17 and again on Saturday, August 22.

Steven Spielberg’s classics ‘Raiders Of The Lost Ark’ and ‘Close Encounters’ will be the movies screened in Tralee but other locations in the county will be showing such iconic movies as  ‘Blade Runner’ and ‘Back To The Future’.

The Secret Cine Club’s initiative will be held in different locations all over the county in the coming weeks, with the first Tralee date kicking off what will hopefully a fantastic few weeks of entertainment.

The ever popular ‘Raiders of The Lost Ark’ will be the first first film screened in Tralee on July 17 with the ‘gates’ opening at 7pm on the night and the film starting at 9.30pm, all free of charge of course.

After this on August 22, the cinema will return again to the park as it screens the 1970’s classic ‘Close Encounters Of A Third Kind’ with ‘gates’ again opening at 7pm with the screening taking place at 9.30pm.

No alcohol will be allowed at the events. Organisers say picnics are allowed and encourage people to bring blankets as it can get chilly.

More open air cinema events will be held in different areas all around the county including Listowel, Killarney, Waterville and Kenmare when such classics as ‘Back To The Future’, ‘ET’, ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Out’, ‘The Goonies’, Stand By Me’ and ‘Blade Runner’ will be shown.
