YOU know Christmas is very close when you see Christy McCarthy belting out rock n roll favourites in the town centre (see video below).
Christy was one of many guest singers who came up on a stage on the Mall for a charity event organised by Tralee gardaí.
This year they were raising funds for the Irish Pilgrimage Trust fund to send children with special needs to Lourdes.

The band struck up in the early afternoon and saw singers such as Mary Lawless – helped by some Pres Secondary girls – Sabrina McKiernan, Christy and others stretch their vocal chords while gardaí held buckets to collect cash for the worthy cause.
Great fun as always and even a few heavy showers failed to dampen spirits.
