THE Rose of Tralee International 10k drew an enormous crowd of runners to the start at the Tralee Wetlands on Sunday morning.

There were serious athletes and casual runners as well as some fancy-dressed members of the Born To Run club who decided to run as Roses and Escorts.

The route took them from the Wetlands to the Caherslee roundabout, along Bracker O’Regan Road, across the north of the town and onto the Oakpark Road down to the railway station, across the North Circular Road onto Rock Street, up the Mall and finished along Denny Street.

Participants all received a medal for their endeavours and there was a great party atmosphere at the finish.

First in the Men’s Senior 18-39 category was  Mark Hanrahan followed by Michael Harty and Donal O’Callaghan.

In the Women’s Senior 18-39 Michelle Finn took first place followed by Niamh O’Sullivan and Annameria Costelloe.

Well done to all who took part.
