An open mic night will take place in The Blasket on Castle Street on Monday, May 15 at 8pm and the ITV crew will have cameras present.

“The researchers contacted us because we’re a well known venue for live music,” said George Savage of The Blasket. “The asked us if they could use the venue for an open mic night and we’ll be delighted to welcome them. There’s some great talent in Kerry and hopefully they can make a name for themselves on the international stage.”

So if you think you’ve got the talent email theblasket28@gmail.com to book your slot on the night. You might find yourselves in front of rock and pop royalty by the end of the year.

The competition is open to solos and duos and all musical styles are welcome. You must be 16 years old on or before October 1, 2017. Under 18s are permitted in the venue if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, before 9pm.
