THE annual Christmas Banna Beach Clean-Up took place last Sunday and a team of 20 people collected a lot of rubbish.

“If you’re ever feeling blue about all the troubles in the world, I would highly recommend joining a community initiative, it will warm your heart!” said Rachel Geary who organised the clean-up.

“Twenty people gathered, wrapped up, armed with gloves and bags and removed a whopping 27 bags of rubbish, along with pallets, fishing crates, ropes and a wellington boot from Banna Beach just in time for Christmas! All this was collected in just one hour!” said Rachel.

A fantastic effort was made by all, especially the little ones who were present, while those helping enjoyed some hot chocolate and punch afterwards. Rachel extended a huge thank you to the volunteers from Banna Coastcare.
