VOLUNTEERS are being sought to be part of the team that will help co-ordinate and marshal the multitude of events planned for 60th Year Celebrations of Rose of Tralee International Festival from Friday 23rd to Tuesday 27th August.

The Rose of Tralee, Kirsten Mate Maher, travelled to Tralee to personally thank the current volunteer panel for their role in staging such a massive event each year and to invite new volunteers to join a great team in 2019.

The deadline for receipt of Volunteer Application Forms is Friday 19th July. Prospective volunteers will gain first-hand experience of working on a large international Arts and Culture Festival that has such a rich and celebrated history.

The Operations Manager with the Rose of Tralee International Festival, Oliver Hurley, said: “Volunteers are certainly the life-blood of the Rose of Tralee International Festival and their involvement is vital to the successful running of this major event. The general public would not enjoy the parades, fireworks displays, live music and street entertainment without the presence of an efficient, skilled and dedicated team of volunteers.”

All volunteers will receive health and safety training, will be provided with a team uniform, access to meals while on their breaks and a chance to be part of one of the world’s most famous family festivals.

Part-time volunteers will be asked to work 4-hour shifts, while full-time volunteers who cover a minimum of eight 4-hour shifts will receive some extra goodies including free tickets to events in the Dome.
