VOTERS in today’s local and European elections and divorce referendum are reminded to ensure they bring identification to their polling station today.

Polling stations opened at 7am this morning and will remain open until 10pm tonight.

The following forms of identification are valid; A passport, driving licence, employee identity card containing a photograph, a student ID with photo issued by an a recognised educational institution, a travel document with photo, a bank or credit union savings book containing your address within the constituency, a public services card, a temporary residence certificate, a Garda national emigration bureau card. If the passport or driving licence is out of date it will still suffice once the photo is on it.

All voters are being urged to take their time when voting, especially in the Tralee Local Electoral Area where there are 17 candidates on the paper (vying for seven seats) and in the European Elections where there are 23 candidates.

When the Irish people vote today, how many know the true ramifications!

From the dynamics of living in a bipolar world power of the USA and USSR to the dynamics of the new emergent multipolar world powers that struggle for power.
The EU, of course wants to take its place with the USA, Russia, China, India as a world superpower.
But does the average Irish person truly realise the not having a true nationalist or republican party to represent our voice for Irish freedom and independence puts us on one path towards a federal European Union with Ireland not as an independent nation state but a province or state within Europe.
Irelands future is limited as it stands today to full EU integration and soon will be firmly to be controlled by Brussels via Germany and/or France with limited representational control over its laws, economy, boards and defence (no neutrality). Just like the days we were controlled by London when we were part of another so called union in a super power.

The European Parliament (EP) group is the political parties you are really voting for and none of them are nationalist or republican!
