THE success of the ‘Walk 4 Life’ event held back in April was evident yesterday as organisers from the walk presented a cheque for  €5,860 to their selected charities.

Colin Aherne and Lorraine Bowler were delighted at the NEKD offices yesterday as they saw the labours of their hard work pay off.

The charities and organisers expressed their thanks to all those who took part on the day and to the local businesses that gave their support to the event, which  saw over 600 people attend.

Colin and Lorraine are currently looking forward to organising the event for next year where they hope that people will again turn out in numbers and show their support to help break the stigma around mental health.
