IF you fancy getting a bit of exercise on Saturday evening, then the annual Tony O’Donoghue Memorial Walk is for you.

Taking place from the Blennerville Windmill Car-Park at 5pm, the walk remembers Tony, a great stalwart of St Pat’s GAA Club who passed away in September of 2014.

Organised by Tony’s daughter Andrea, the walk has raised thousands of euro for the Palliative Care Unit over the years and Andrea is hoping families come out for a leisurely walk along the canal.

“It’s a community walk and it’s very family orientated. It’s not quite the 5k — it’s from the Windmill car-park, back to the canal, towards the lock gates in by the ‘white wall’ in to lohercannon and back down to the windmill through Hare Street,” said Andrea.

“We’ll have food, refreshments and music in Quane’s afterwards and everyone who takes part will be entered for a draw for a signed Kerry jersey,” she added. A great way to spend a Saturday evening, for a wonderful cause.
