TRALEE Warriors basketball team member Fergal O’Sullivan is channelling his frustration at last week’s decision to deprive the club of a second Men’s Superleague title, to do something positive for the local community.

Warriors were denied the title after Sports Dispute Solutions Ireland ruled they committed ‘an unintentional rule violation’ for the illegal registration of American player Andre Berry and were deducted six points. It’s understood the violation was an unpaid registration fee of €22.

The decision has caused huge disappointment among Warriors players and fans alike and Fergal decided to use his frustration in a positive way.

He set up a gofundme page where people are asked to donate €22, or whatever they can, to Meals On Wheels Tralee, who are experiencing huge demand for their services. “In return. Hail, Rain or Shine for the nest 22 days I will do 22 Push-Ups on the back yard swing set,” said Fergal in an Instagram post.

The page was set up on Wednesday night with a target of €2,222 and had raised nearly €1,700 by 11.30am on Thursday morning. You can donate to the cause by clicking here and going to the page. Well done Fergal!…and yes, we think Warriors were robbed too!
