AS everyone knows by this stage, 2017 is a very special one for Austin Stacks GAA Club.
The most famous club in Kerry has an illustrious history and a number of events are being held to celebrate the milestone, the latest of which is their sold-out Corporate Lunch this Friday in Ballygarry where over 400 people will sit down for an afternoon (and evening) of entertainment.
As part of the centenary celebrations the club are launching the Stacks 100 project.
It is a collection of video and audio pieces that will celebrate Austin Stacks past achievements and look at the club and its members in the present day.
The pieces will be released on an ongoing basis over the coming months and it is hoped that there will be around 60 in total.
This video below is a small taste of what is to come and you can find much more on www.stacks100.ie including the 1994 county final and part one of the McNamee Award winning ‘Rockumentary’.
Filmmaker and photographer, Rory Kirby, did a fantastic job with this montage showing footage from the distant past mixed with recent glories and the future greats from the juveniles. Watch it below…
